Let's do an album!....so we did. After slamming down a lineup of tracks full of vocal amazingness, it was time to put a face to that face. Patrick McAloon is a Providence, RI based singer/songwriter (and family friend might I add...) who was seeking a quirky look for his latest release. After discarding the posed photographs Patrick provided to me for use in capturing his likeness, I was able to find the real Patrick McAloon in a video of him doing his thing live on stage....and the album was born. Please visit http://www.myspace.com/patrickmcaloonband to enjoy his music as much as we have. Congrats Patrick on a fresh new album! Patrick is currently touring nationwide with the Pat McGee Band. Please visit http://www.patmcgee.net for more news and upcoming event information.
Chaos! Imaginary Forces called upon my quirky resourceful side for use in the Comedy Central Rebrand proposal. The concept was to break the Network into organized genres of comedy (represented in the samples below). These mood boards would eventually be broken out into elements for day to day use within the on-air package. This was truly creative freedom at it's greatest. From coming up with whacky scenarios, to character development and environmental design, this was definitely one of my all time favorite branding projects.....ever. Dirty Deeds done for Viewpoint Creative of Newton, Mass. HBO had decided to brand the Ratings & Original Series Intro for their popular hit, True Blood. the design was bound to get a little messy due to the genre, and it bloody did. In classic HBO storytelling fashion, the familiar swamp setting quickly becomes immersed in blood, revealing Show Package and Ratings Info, seamlessly tying the Intro directly in with the Show Open. Please see my "Design" menu for more detailed images from this project.
Viewpoint Creative called me to "think out of the box" on this one. The Science Channel wanted to take a fresh look at their brand, while still retaining their recognizable square logo design. We went 3D with it. It slices, it dices, and it does just about everything needed to build the new Science Channel On-Air Branding Package. From transitional elements, to ID's, the "Cube" became the hero of the concepts, quickly bringing depth and energy to the new look. My role was to bring as many scenarios as I could to the table for this "Cube" and push the boundaries for ID's, Tune-In elements and all the other fragments needed to complete the rebrand. For more images from this project, please see my "Design" menu and click on the Science Channel Rebrand button!
Toil is a Boston based company "dedicated to motion design for all media platforms"....and they needed a brand. It was asking to be modern, fun, clean, hip, and it needed to set Toil apart from the rest of the crowd. I think it does! The final mark was flexible enough to break out into brand elements for use on multiple platforms, from TV to Print. Hell, I'm still waiting for my T-Shirt! In order to convey the concept of energy, we spiced up the chrome palette a little with "the glowing I-ball". This little guy should be energetic enough to generate all sorts of attention in the world of motion graphics. Please visit Toil's website at www.toilboston.com to view more of that sweet brand and be sure to check out all their kick ass work and "visual tomfoolery" while you're at it!
Newfangled Studios is a boutique video production, editing, motion graphics, and content creation group located in Cambridge, Mass. The goal was to create a brand that fit right in with Newfngled's promise of "great storytelling". In order to keep the brand flexible, many versions of the logo were created in Cinema 4D and in 2D. We also implemented the gamut for a color palette and background textures in order to allow for a wider range of scenarios and uses. Please visit Newfangled's website at www.newfangledstudios.com to check out their latest accomplishments and to take a peek at the new brand implementation.
